Adrian State Bank is Now Adrian Bank
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, Adrian State Bank became Adrian Bank following a recent acquisition by Premier Bank of Rock Valley, Iowa. While the name has changed, bank leaders emphasize that the commitment to serving the Adrian community remains unchanged.
The acquiring bank was founded in 1997 and currently operates locations in northwest Iowa, including Rock Valley, Rock Rapids and Doon, as well as in southeast South Dakota in Alcester and Hudson. Bank officials are excited to extend their small-town, ag-focused, and relationship-based approach to banking just across the border into southwest Minnesota.
Because of trade name restrictions and to avoid confusion in the Minnesota market, the recently acquired location will operate as Adrian Bank. Deposits will be aggregated with all Iowa-South Dakota-Minnesota branches for FDIC (Member FDIC) purposes under a single insured bank for insurance coverage up to the allowable limits.
The acquisition was described as a natural fit by bank co-founder Wade Gort, who has personal ties to the area. Gort’s daughter, Molly Schilling, works at the Adrian School as the superintendent. “We felt an immediate connection to both the staff and the community when we met with the Eickhoff family,” Gort said. “The community is incredibly similar to other communities we’ve served for years, and the building itself even resembles several of our other locations.”
All employees from Adrian State Bank have been retained and will continue serving customers at the Adrian location. Familiar faces and local expertise will remain vital to daily operations.
Throughout the transition, the focus has been on maintaining continuity and minimizing disruption for customers and staff. Adrian Bank will continue to operate as a local community bank but is now supported by the expanded resources and financial strength of a larger organization with additional services while maintaining local decision making and strong customer relationships.
Adrian Bank looks forward to continuing its long-standing role in the community and providing the personal service customers have come to expect.
